Ellis County has a burn ban in effect today, since Aug 4 (day 79), as reported to Texas A&M Forest Service. The ban covers the unincorporated parts of Ellis County; inside a city's limits, city rules govern outdoor burning, so check local rules before you burn. 146 of Texas's 254 counties have a burn ban on the same list. No wildfires within 100 miles of central Ellis County are on the national wildfire list.
